After the Eclipse...

So you've seen all the anime and want to know where to go next? Good, you've come to the right place... I'll try to make this as easy to understand as possible for all the non manga readers out there.

SPOILERS AHEAD! If you haven't seen the series turn back now and don't be a moron! :p

The section isn't complete and I will soon have partial small scans so you can get a better feel for what's going on. Expect to see a lot more manga summaries in the future as well as text based translations.

The Manga

For General info on the manga go here as this is only about the manga after the eslipse. For the most part the anime is based on the manga, volumes 4-13 with a little bit of volume 1 thrown in for the very first episode. The manga as I type this is currently at 22 volumes and as such has gone waaaaay past the anime's horrifying final episode O_O

Although thtre are LOTS of differences the TV series was very close to the manga, so if you've seen it you can jump right into the manga w/o many problems... but there are a few major characters you won't recognize.

The single most important character that was left out of the TV series was the Skull Knight (Knight of Skeleton). When you get up to my manga summaries you'll see why he's so important... In the TV series while at Godo's, Guts finds out about the Hawks and Caska and runs off to help them. In the manga (volume 9) Guts meets the Skull Knight in a forest, and he's the one that gives Guts the horrible prediction of the fate of the Band of the Hawk.

Although not as important to this section, another character that is left out and introduced in the very first volume is Puck (pakk). Puck is a fairy that is saved by Guts (in place of the mistreated barmaid from episode 1) and for a long time he's Guts's only travelling companion. All this info, in detail will appear in my episode summaries and anime/manga differences sections in the near future.
