Movie Review

Day of the Dead is a fitting end to the Dead Trilogy...unless Romero comes up with another one like he is rumored. The world is basically overrun by the walking dead. Cities are abandoned and littered with zombies. The story revolves around a handful of scientist, civilians, and soldiers who have been assigned to a military bunker somewhere along Florida. As far as we and they know, they are the last survivors. They search by air and radio, but no one is to be found.
They're running low on living people as the tension builds between the scientist and the soldiers. The most amazing over-actor Joe Pilato makes his character Rhodes one of the most hated bastards in film history.
Well anyway, while all this Night of the Living Dead-ish conflict is going on, zombies get into the bunker and start tearing apart everyone. It's really cool. Oh yeah, Dr. Logan, the local mad scientist has a pet zombie whom he trained named Bub. Bub ends up shooting Rhodes in the back. I thought that was a fitting end to such a bastard.
Day of the Dead is by far the goriest of the Dead Trilogy. Savini did an amazing job on the special effects, and actually used very realistic blood this time!
