Whats going on in your life Thread (happy,sad,mad,ect)

So to follow up on the situation of my parents I mentioned a few posts back.

Apparently the bank finally decided to come and evict the neighbor. They actually boarded up the house and everything (front windows were smashed, inside was dilapidated, broken water main, etc.) The guy refused to leave. Cops came around 7ish, and told my parents to move from the living to a room not facing the neighbors house. Ok.... So about a half hour later, my dad hears gun shots! He starts to view the security feeds outside to make sense of whats going on. Nothing, then all of a sudden ambulance comes and out comes what seems to be my neighbor on a stretcher with white sheets over him...

Holy crap. They've had gun problems next door but that's not how I envisioned it going down. Just this past Saturday I was home for Mother's Day weekend walking my dog, and he was outside teaching his daughter how to ride a bike. While I'm relieved that my parents will probably be ok, I can't make sense of the loss of life and a father. Not only that, but leaving a boarded house in disarray and the property value implications it has. Regardless of the selfish feelings I have about the situation, I'm really shaken up with how that guy's daughters are going to be.

That whole thing totally blows. I sincerely hope it turns around, literally. I hope that someone buys the house and fixes it up and flips it to some nice family who will make great neighbors for your parents. That is awful for the girls who lost a father, but maybe their lives will improve too with time, I hope so at least. The house next to us has been empty for years, it finally went back on the market a couple weeks ago and there have been a couple people looking, but I don't know what the current selling price is. We'll see, I hope we get some good neighbors.

Just stopping in to say hi. Life has been quite a challenge for the past six months, but I'm hoping things take an upswing.

I love chocolate martinis! There's a place near here that does a really good job with them, I don't know what they use, but I'm pretty sure one of the ingredients is roofies.

  @ Marka. I know you prefer the classic, and that's fine. I love experimental cocktails and the chocotini does not disappoint: it tastes like really rich chocolate cake, or maybe a brownie, but it will seriously F a person up.  It's like dessert, with a kick.

Blade is in China currently for work. He comes home the first day of ComicCon. Double
