Yeah, I'm bringin' it back, 'cause that's just how I do (it hurts me when rappers don't add the necessary "it" to the end of that... even if it's a dumb expression to begin with). On with the show!

Rubber - What the hell did I just watch?/10

This is the premise: a tire (as in automobile tire) comes to life in the middle of nowhere and starts killing animals and people using telekinetic powers. I swear to you, I'm not making this shit up. Picture Scanners-style blown-up heads and you'll get the idea. Now, if that was the weirdest part of the movie, I might have been able to go into that zen meditative state that men go to where we turn off our brains while watching a movie and no problem... but it's not even close to being the strangest thing going on. There's also some kind of shadow conspiracy and the movie does this meta thing at many points during the plot. It's just really bizarre. The camera work itself is pretty straight-forward, so that's not a distraction, and the technical department gets the job done all right. Some interesting stuff does happen as well, but mostly, it's just a bizarre movie. I'd say give it a watch if you want a movie to really have you going "what the hell?" And not in the good, thoughtful way.

Fast 5 - 7/10... Scratch that, about a 6.7/10

My first though upon exiting the cinema was "I can't believe that was actually good". Not a 'car movie' like they used to be (which was fine for what they were, which wasn't very good), but an actual action flick. Not half bad. Dumb as hell, but in a good way.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides - 8/10 I really enjoyed this. It was definitely different than the first 3, and I thought a few things could have been done differently, but overall it's a fun ride and it's really good to see Captain Jack again. Smiley

No one saw X-Men: First Class?!
amazing, much better than the last two X-films.  it kinda makes a guy like me wish they'd forgo the comic's continuity like this more often; in a perfect world this would've been the first film...

We watch a lot of movies since my son works at the theatre... lol.. and they've just upgraded and added 3 3D screens... no more 45 mile trips to see something in 3D!! Woot!

Saw Kung Fu Panda 2, PoTC, Thor, etc...  don't want to see Super 8, it looks scary... lol

Can't remember the ones we want to see that's coming out... lol.. we see the previews and go yep, want to see that one... yep... nope... yep...  Well, other than Transformers, Harry Potter, Twilight...

Dark of the Moon - probably the best of the Bayformers trilogy.  That's not exactly saying a whole lot, though... but it is definitely a major improvement over Revenge of the Fallen.  Not nearly as much of the blatant stupidity... but, then again, it may have helped that they cribbed heavily from the old G1 cartoons.  "The Ultimate Doom", "Megatron's Master Plan", "Atlantis, Arise!", "City of Steel", "Cosmic Rust"... even a little of The Transformers: The Movie (in regards to certain... casualties...).

Though Sentinel Prime quoting a line from Spock... that was a groaner.

One big redeeming quality, though, was that the Jar-Jar Twins from RotF (Skids and Mudflap) were indeed excised from this movie.  And the holdover mini-bot from the last movie (Wheelie), along with his new buddy Brains, are less annoying (and they actually make themselves quite useful at one point).

I know the feeling.  It was freakin' sweet!  (Except for one guy in the audience who tended to laugh at inappropriate moments...)

Finally got to see the last Harry Potter. I think I started crying about 20 minutes in and didn't really stop until the epilogue. I was happy with it.  Smiley

Watched Khal Drogo as Conan. He's pretty badass, but old school "lamentations of the women" 80's conan is still better for me.
