Any comments on differences between the two?
Like, who has cooler "attack fx"? And which one of them did this awesome job  on the soge king song? (is that still usopp's VA?)

i'd go with gerusama from 219-258, pretty much their whole run.  they did a really good job IMO and ADC didn't really catch their stride till they'd been doing it for a while.

fortunately, by the time that sogeking sings his song ADC is in full swing, and the episodes that are coming out now are as good as i've seen from any group doing any series.

[BalF] One Piece: Filling the gap

[Balf] 210-218

Geru Sama is doing fine... in fact, I'm seeding 230-239 & 240-249 right now...
I stopped seeding 220-229 last night.

anything else?

lucifer!

kaizoku fansubs are actually up to episode 208 now.  just a couple more episodes and they'll be caught up to where BALF started.  balf's episodes are seriously a 'hold-me-over' till KF releases the HQ episodes.  the balf episodes are watchable, but thats about.

its a shame too, because the KF episodes can't come out fast enough.  the davy back fight is probably one of the funniest parts of the series and i'm in limbo till they release all the episodes in their h.264 glory Cheesy

vegapunk is actually a very good subbing group, and they offer their eps in SD and HD!  if your pc can handle it the HD episodes are so beautiful.

i forgot that i saw your post the other day der, i would have replied :p

last i checked they might be a week or two behind but they are usually not too late.

which brings me to a point.  wtf is up with one piece fansub groups?  i love vegapunk and will dl their episodes until they get lazy, but i've already the same thing about ADC-Elites and Gerusama in their time.  i just wonder how long it will be until vegapunk gives up and we have to wait in limbo for another decent group to come around.  thats why when there are other groups releasing their subs faster and more consistently than another group i get a little scared another paradigm shift is coming.

To be honest: it takes a LOT of time, effort and dedication to do fansubbing. And it wears on the subbers. Especially when a group is downloaded by so many people and is so well known.
The time and effort required to do it eventually puts a strain on personal and professional relationships most of the time, and group members are forced to put their priorities in order... and rarely do those priorities include fansubbing one piece Sad

I can only tell you from experience doing scanslating, which took about 1/10th as much time and effort to do as fansubbing.

yeah, i'm not really bitching, because i know how difficult it must be to do on a weekly basis. its free, its awesome, and its usually pretty damn good quality too.

its just frustrating as a fan seeing my favorite anime get tossed around like the red-headed stepchild nobody wants.  naruto and bleach get consistent fansubbing, so why can't OP? yatta yatta yatta they're more popular i know, but i'd think that a less-known series (relatively) like OP would produce more dedicated and enthusiastic subbers.  i guess we all get tired and jaded though.

edit: i know the length is an issue, but now that the entire series is up to date with good quality subs maintaining it shouldn't be any harder than any other series.  i guess i just really want a group like dattebayo to pick up OP.  fast and reliable on a weekly basis.
