Both new technology for good and new technology for evil. Example: Atomic Bomb

And new technology does not make waging war right.

Xeph, Gecko has a point you really do not have the years to understand how most Americans feel. I have almost lost family in some of these attacks. My step-dad is a military officer and right now is on high alert to be called in, so I think I can see both sides clearer. I have both the idealistic peace side, and the bomb them and end it side rolling about in my head.

I think that the happy medium in the middle you want to find is not as happy as we would like it to be, and no matter what we finally decide to do it needs to get the message across not to mess with us anymore.

And Majick, I have a point in that you can't ignore my opinion on the basis of my inability to comprehend most Americans' feelings. My points have no relation to the feelings of Americans. However, I don't see any contradiction to my statements, you have said nothing to disagree with me.

Since that is the case, thank you for stating your position.

Xeph you take my sarcasm too seriously - the last comment was a joke Wink

Anyway my comments aren't meant to say anything other than retaliation is necessary at this point. Not for revenge. Not for racism. For pure rational, thought out logic. It's the only choice when you're the only rational one in a situation (fighting those in a jihad is like arguing with a brick travelling at 300mph and aimed at your head).

And Poyo I don't ever remember targeting the entire arab nation (Lebanon included) so don't turn me into captain genocide ^_-;; I could never hate my favorite poyo, even if you, by some miracle beat me in Mario Kart.

You just have to realize that it angers and in some ways saddens me to hear people denouncing those who are too quick to act while they themselves will sit around arguing forever on the other side of the fence and flat out do _nothing_. I always aim for the middle, and watch the opposing sides fight to no end. It's like those annoying conformist non-comformists who in mass hate all that the "masses" like.

What it all comes down to is none of us knows or will ever know what really happens. No matter how much you see on TV there's so much more to it... no matter what you hear is never 100% complete. There's stuff going on that you could never comprehend, and the sooner you accept how little you really know you'll begin to see the scope of the real problem.

So with that said, sorry if I offended you Xeph or Poyo, but remember the "you people" was directed at the "war is bad" and we don't know who did it comments.

They wouldn't admit it, but they've known who did it since it happened, and intelligence really goofed - soemthing they won't want to admit. So when I'm saying they need to annihilate the enemy I'm talking about the enemy and not those who share a race with the enemy.

That and they don't seem to have any moral dilemmas with killing 20,000+ innocent americans. A friend's uncles team was killed on the roof of building 1 while repairing some A/C vents, and I doubt that had anything to do with the Afghan problems...

Xeph you are just a moron...I have now lost all respect for you...I NEVER said you couldn't understand why everyone was so mad because you are not forom the US.  If you want to bring up that moronic Canadian crap you people freaked over so many weeks ago, go someplace else.  You ficking call me a rascist for no damn reason.  Nothing I said was racially driven.

I said you don't have the frame of reference because you are too damn young to remember that the WTC was not the first terrorist act we have had to face.  More than half of the people acting all self-righteous and "bigger" than the rest of us weren't even alive to remember the last time terrorism plagued US citizens.  And then it was solved by attacking these people and removing them as a threat.  When was the last time the Hamas or Islamic Jihad did anything to US citizens?  Not since the 80's...want to know why?  We bombed and attacked them to near elimination of the groups (not the people...put your genocide comments away).  We showed them we would not tolerate this behavior from them.  NOw is the time to do the same.

Wow... lots of posts.

Anywho I'm a bit younger than Xeph.. and I guess I wish to state my opinion.  I'm not really agreeing with either side, just wanna say what I think.  Well I understand what gecko is saying cause some of the younger generation has never experienced other tradegies including myself, but I really don't see why that has anything to do with this situation cause we just experienced a tradegy...  A tradegy is a tradegy it doesn't matter when it happened or how many you've lived through..  They still have the same impact if you have any remote understanding of what happened yesterday.  I know people may disagree, but I don't see why we're arguing on how people tend to interpret it...  It doesn't really have any point to this.

I understand where the people from anti-war are coming from too though..  cause I sorta feel the same way, if there was a way to avoid it which there may be it would be great... but I doubt that will happen.  War is an incredibly stupid thing..  I'm not saying we'd do land attacks, which I don't think we will since we suck at fighting in the jungle... but if we do we're sending people in to die and break up more families..  causing more people pain.  I didn't have anyone close to me die in yesterday.  If everyone close to me had died yesterday yeah sure I'd want the person who did it...  but if it meant more to suffer like me, I would hope for another way.

I don't believe in war, but in this case I think it will happen and in some ways is necessary... not really for revenge, but to make sure it doesn't happen again.  If we don't retaliate then the other countries will think we aren't as strong as thought to be as some already do...  so more would try the same thing so more would die, retaliation is necessary...

Thanks for the boost in self esteem. I have not lost any respect for you, because a debate should not change one's opinion of their opponent.

I fail to see your point. I did not claim you said that I could not understand how the Americans felt.

First of all, I fail to recall any 'moronic Canadian crap' I freaked about, considering I don't freak over anything. Secondly, if you are looking for the racism in your comments, read the previous sentence, where you say "moronic Canadian crap". Sounds pretty racist to me.

As for the actual topic of debate, I don't have any quarrels with what you just said. 'Justice must be done' if another incident like this is to be prevented.

Just for a side note I was going to 7-11 to get some iced tea. I had my t-tops off and was listening to 46 & 2 by tool. I stopped the car, parked and got out and noticed a girl probably about 15 crying horribly and walking while someone had an arm around her. It was her brother and they just found out by cel phone that their parents were both dead.

The brother was trying so hard to be strong while his sister broke down... it broke my heart, and was absolutely gut wrenching. Like I said here in NY there are going to be tens of thousands of these stories w/in the next few days - I understand it's not as real to lots of the board members far away, but just realize that I wasn't and am not kidding when I say we're living it over here so if we seem a little "emotional" or reactive just bear with us.

Oh yeah, that and the "happy dancing arabs" who were rejoicing in our streets/schools/towns that their "brothers" had blown up the symbol of evil democracy are being systematically destroyed by US citizens and students here in NY. I can't tell you how many stories I've heard of the arabs rejoicing and getting their asses kicked to near death if not death... and I can't say I feel sorry for them at all.

What I don't get is what the hell are they doing in our schools? I say go the f**k home if you don't like the US. I'm not even going to get into that one...

Ice, they're not all arabs. A buch of kids were laughing here and almost got their asses kicked. They got suspended. Actually, no arabs in my school to my knowledge have acted in any sort of 'this is a good thing' way.

yeah i know the feeling we've had people like that in my school too... especially the freshman...

my government teacher said people like that should be shoved in a barrell and fed food through a little hole..

He said a lot of people don't realize the magnitude of what has happened.

Thats so sad about their parents.  I've been watching the stories on the news since thats all I can see, its so awful...  One story I've seen did have a happy ending.. one of the very few.

Ice, I can't tell you how much that scares me.

I fully expect attacks agains anyone who looks like they're from the Middle East, regardless of their reaction to the events.

The only people rejoicing on TV and in RL by me are _all_ arabs, no kidding. Show me one person that was rejoicing and not an arab and I'll retract that statement.

If they wish to remain here (and in FLA apparently, as well as campuses all around our nation) safe they had better stay indoors and not instigate anyone... not all NYer's are as calm as the ones who just looked on in disgust, many are going to act on their violent emotions.

It scares me too poyo, but what can I say, it's just the way it is. I'm going to rollerblade in a while maybe bike ride - hopesully there won't be any attcakc in the woods where I go.

No need to retract your statement ice, I'm just saying that there are always freaks, no matter where you are.
