more innocent lives?  you don't even know who or what was attacked...

and i don't consider people who used kids with hand grenades strapped to their bodies as innocents.

There were two sides to the Afghan wars... the talibar and the russian supporters..no middle ground.  it was a civil war with russia involved in it.  no one tried to stay neutral.  The talibar won, and they did it by murdering their own children.

Innocents?  Where was their care for the innocents today?  for the innocent children in that war (which was only 15 years ago.)

Update:  The taliban are being shelled over the killing of a general yesterday...not by the US...its official now.

What about waiting? We can't do anything when we don't know what we're dealing with.

I want retaliation as much as anyone, but I don't want a mistake with this.

So you assume that they're all consumed with death and destruction and that not one single person there wants peace and an end to war?

Who cares about singles, it's the majority rule that controls their actions. Poyo I really think it's wonderful that you value and respect life (as I do) but these people hate you and want you dead... In their country there is a bounty on Americans and they actually get a reward if they provide evidence that they killed an american.

It's all about numbers; if 1 kid gets killed and 100 enemies get killed it's all good to them. Hell if 5000 kids get killed and they kill 1 leader of their enemy they're happy.

In 1986 the US bombed Libya.  The point of the attack was to stop terrorist acts planned by the Hamas and the Islamic Jihad...two of the then bloodiest groups in the middle east.  Since then neither group has been able to muster a sizeable assault and has receded into obscurity.  So afraid of the US are they, that within moments of these acts today they both were on the phone to anyone who would listen to disavow knowledge and responsibility.

One innocent death...versus preventing another 40000+ killing in the future?  Show me where the button is..."The good of the many outweigh the good of the few."

we gave peace a chance.  Clinton turned the US's cheek for 8 years...and look where it got us...we tried and convicted those responsible for the 1993 attack on the WTC.  Did it work?

We know who could have done this, and we know what those groups are capable of.  It is time to stop them.
