he's . . . . dead

When we were eating dinner, my Mom's friend Sandy called and my Grandma talked to her for a couple of minutes. From what I heard my Grandma saying, my Aunt Barbara wanted my mother to go funeral shopping with her this afternoon because my Uncle Charlie is dead . . . I won't believe it. I can't believe it. I just . . . can't.

Excuse me for a minute. *goes off to find a box of Kleenex because she's been crying while typing this*

Nothing's bad with crying. It's normal. And it gets the weight off your shoulder. So while the going is good, let those tears fall and lighten your load.

But remember, you got a life to go through. And I bet your uncle will be there every step of the way. So remember to get back in line soon. Don't worry. Your uncle will be rooting for you; count on it.

I'm so sorry Sam. I know you must feel like crap right about now. I'm sure you'll feel better in a few weeks. We all wish you the best.

dengit, I hate situations like these.  Not only do they make you want to fall apart, but I don't know what to say, since I don't want to say the wrong thing and make whoever lost someone feel even worse or make them mad.
