Well, now I have to get a legit copy of FoR since i love it... damn... it's gonna be a while before I can though.

It was licenced/release by the same people who did "Inuyasha"... and I have no other information... I need to pick up the first DVD, which i think imma ask for for x-mas.

Anyone have any other information on anything?

i love FoR... but it does have it's ups and downs.

I think i might rent it (IF I CAN) to see how the quality is... wouldn't surprise me if it sounds like Yuske from YU YU HAKUSHO for recca... if it does, i wont buy it... like ever... but i might anyways, since i'm a fan, :p

Well I don't actually have an opinion on FoR, all I know is I hate Viz a hell of a lot, so that's why I wont buy the R1.

Though this thread does remind me that I should dig up my HK's and actually watch it eventually.

watch the first 20 episodes, in regular play, then watch the next 22 episodes in 2x speed or faster... otherwise you'll never finish it because it's all a competition thing, so it's fight after fight, and most of the dialog at times sucks.

ok, so people don't like double posts, so sue me.  I figured i'd put this here instead of making a new topic.

My review of the first R1 DVD release:

2/5

Video (4/5):
Ok, the video actually isn't that bad.

Audio (3/5):
Japanese version audio sucks balls in quality, my old .rm files had better audio -_-

English version was better in terms of quality.

Voice Acting (1.5/5):
HORRIBLE... geeze, i want to listen to japanese with subtitles, but the audio isn't great, i'm sort of stuck with english, and some of the characters you can hear from YuYuHakusho, i'm not to fimilar with the show, but even I can tell.  Lipsyncing was pretty bad too, and the voices didn't fit the people.  And any laughing, or continuous "ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch" thing was HORRIBLE.  Sure the translations weren't bad, but i can fan-dub the show better if I had their video source.

Subtitles (4/5)
some not so great places... overall not bad

Watching expirience (2.5/5):
Not very good, i'm a good fan of the series, so i don't mind too much, but seriously, they need to do this one better.  I hope things change later on.

Value for money (3.5/5)
ok, there are 4 episodes, maybe 5, i have to double check, so it's not bad:

Extra's (4.5/5):
The best part of the DVD for me.  The scetches are going to be screenshotted and used for my site etc.  ALSO, clean openings and endings are a GOOD thing.  Now that was all, so why the higher mark?  The little insert people don't pay attention, it gives good details on the first main weapon, if each DVD has a different one, it's a GREAT things for a person like me, i get better scetches of it, details, etc.

Coverart:
not bad (not much to say, it's good quality)

Menu's:
not bad, but the transition scene choice was horrible, and annoying, but not bad in terms of use.  the set-up menu sucked, not sure what was going on, but oh well.

I had seen the first DVD at the mall today and remembered that you like it, but then I remembered it was done by VIZ so I had to pass.... It seems by your review I made a good call...
