He's made some legitimate statements. His entire article doesn't deserve to be dismissed.

Yea, you can't just look at a few big cities......I mean, look at North Dakota.  Plenty of farm land, and hunting season is always good.  And so what if we run out of oil.........by the time I'm 30 I bet the cars we use won't run on gas.  Or if they do then maybe they'll use this one I saw at a convention.  It is too low to the ground for comfort in my opion.  It can only hold 2 people, but.......It gets 658 miles to the gallon!!!!  And we are pretty close to being able to remove the salt from the ocean water, a little pricey, but thats ok.

Hate to say this all, but I agree with Mr Glover. Tell me why all of a sudden we get patriotic when NY is blown to bits? It shouldn't take that. We should've been patriotic from the get-go. I could turn this into a religion thing, but that too will cause problems. So I won't pop that can open.

How I feel? We're way too mechanized. That's why Y2K was such a big problem. Granted, it was fixed, but I hear its not quite over yet. And as for Laden? We're in deep. He's a man who believes he's on a holy quest. He can't be stopped. Kill him and ten will rise to take his place. Its a never ending battle. And don't even get me started on how I think the war will be. WWIII is how I see it. And few will make it out alive. We've got nukes and way too many trigger happy people. Oh yeah, and if we blow them to Kingdom Come, key word if, I believe we get even deeper in the sand. How so? Let's not forget those guys on those suicide planes were Americans. Who's to say that right now one of Bin Laden's boys isn't having tea with Bush? Who's to say that our bombs are under our control?

That's just how I feel. Take it as you like.

Here come the flames.

*peers at SSK* Just what do you mean by "Let's not forget those guys on those suicide planes were Americans"? As far as I can recall, some were on Student Visas or obtained fake Id's.

well, i don't have really have feelings about it, but i do have a quote about calling the terrorists "cowards" as bush is wont to do:

"remember: they're willing to blow themselves up to get to us, and we launch 3 million dollar cruise missles from giant floating iron islands over 2000 miles away--who's the real cowards??"

Well, the last time we launched cruise missiles at the terrorists was when we had Bill "Hey, Monica, wanna see my new cuban cigar?" Clinton in office (that and the incident leading to "Blackhawk Down" probably is indicative of how "Slick Willie" liked to conduct his battles). Whatever you may think of Bush Jr., it's best to keep in mind that he is conducting the "war" effort in a completely different manner than his predecessor- U.S. casualties and all notwithstanding.

Erm, what poem? But in any event, yes, we all eventually have to go sometime- of course, it would be much more preferable, in my own view, if the people (the terrorists) that most want to have us (the Western world) all killed off were to be killed first before they got to do just that....
