Wow.

I mean, at least she's honest about it. But holy crap, what a shallow person. She chose her career knowing it wouldn't be well-paying (and perhaps she is not well-paid because she is the sort of journalist who writes articles about books she hasn't read?) and now wants to marry a man who can support her in a lifestyle she can't afford on her own. Of course, our parents didn't raise us in a lavish lifestyle, so we never felt the need to have tons of expensive things.

We don't have a ton of money. There's a lot of things we can't afford. But we're cool with that because, you know, we're happy with each other. Money can't buy love, my dear. The Beatles said it, and you everything they said is true.

I'd marry for money if I were a woman, and I'll probably end up with a woman marrying me for my money, anyway.

However, since I don't have any money, and am, in fact, unemployed, I probably won't be getting married anytime soon.

Marrying for money may seem like a good plan to some, but it backfires more often than not. I know someone on her 3rd marriage and it's not going well. For me, it's not worth the headaches. I'm glad I married someone who I can talk to and hang out with, and I count it as sheer luck that we're not broke.
