xxxholic Hate

So I got the last two volumes of xxxholic season one for review. I know the show has some fans on this board. My question for you is: is the show consistently annoying, or is it just those last two volumes?

Seriously. It's not getting a good review from me. The designs are like CLAMP X-TREME, and I don't find them attractive at all. The little demon girls that live with Yuko are annoying as hell. Mokona is a pain in the ass. Most of the stories bored me (except the one with the artifact procession, and that was only interesting to me because I'd recently read about them).

And Watanuki...dear God, Watanuki. I hates him, precious.  He's more high-strung than a meth addict on a 2-week binge. In this episode: Watanuki drops his napkin on the floor and begins screaming until he faints from sheer hysteria! And in the dub he's even shriller and more horrible than the sub!

I'm sorry, xxxholic fans, but I just don't get it.

Sorry LM, if you don't like it, there's not really anything I can do to change that.  I love xxxholic because of how steeped it is in Japanese history and culture, and it's deeply intertwined story with Tsubasa, and the friendships made between all the main characters.  Maybe you just need to watch it from the beginning, but really, if you don't find the characters endearing you probably won't even if you watch it from the beginning.

The manga, is, of course, much better in general.

...Episode 17 was one of the most boring episodes of anything I have ever seen.  So much so that I specifically remember it out of the entire rest of the show.  And after that episode the rest of the show just really isn't the same.

I think the first episode on disc 6 is episode 17...so I all the lame ones, I guess. I'll add that comment in my review.
