Completely put this in the wrong forum. -__-

So I have a computer with a MSI board. And every once in awhile, the computer will not boot up. It still stay on the MSI board image before loading and chirp. Does that mean its a HDD issue or a mobo issue? Out of frustration, I unplugged the slave to what I thought was the main HDD and booted it up. Turns out it was my movie drive and the computer booted on. This has happened before, only to stop, and have this chirping problem. Any ideas?

Again, I'm an idiot in most things, especially the computer.

From my experience, that could be several things.  Bad bios, bad HD, dying (is that the proper spelling for that?) mobo, bad ram.

You could probably start from the simplest/cheapest solution, and work from there.  Update bios, format your drives, replace drives and/or mobo.

Thanks for the tip. I'll just go with what works now, and figure it's maybe a HDD issue.
