I haven´t been here for a long time... When I´ve decided to check the board, I find it virtually dead. Yeah... it seems HK DVDs really have died. Of course, it been years since I last bought one set.

Yeah fansubs hurt them a lot.  90 percent of the people i knew that used to buy lots of hks now download most of thier anime.

R1 companies have for the most part gotten their act together as well.  With the exception of out of print shows i cant even imagine buying an hk now.

With the cheap internet Fansubs is where it's at. People hook up their computers to the TV and done. Quicker than any HK DVD set. I can't imagine ordering 1000 DVDs like I used to do back in the day.

Yes the fan subs have almost basically killed the HK dvd need by consumers. But there are still a lot of shows that have not been fansubbed and or released on R1 dvd in the USA.

I never thought FOTS tv would ever come out either, but Discotek is going to put it out, so who knows.

And the few hkdvds I've seen are like 13-14 episodes on 1 disc-super crappy video quality for sure.

I haven't sold any in a couple of years. The consumers are way more demanding. They're really hard to please now. The new shows are getting released right away and people are not waiting for DVD releases. If you shift the focus to older shows you really don't have a lot to sell. Also R1s are so cheap now that you would have to lower your prices considerably to compete. It was a good ride while it lasted.

Shoot, I can't even trade any HK dvd's!!  Nobodies interested in them... and I can't trade them on other sites... Sad

Oh well.. that's the way it goes I guess... I still have some nice sets available...  haven't updated my trade list in forever so it's probably buried and gone...

I also have a lot of manga, and quite a few cheap DS games and some PSP games including a Japanese Import Aedeus Memories Shinten Makai Generation of Chaos V!!
