Yeah, gave up MW2 because I just couldn't stand it anymore. It seemed like every time I played, I was always playing with incompetents or against nuke boosters. The Nuke seriously kills all the other game modes other than Sabotage and TDM because you'll find people just boosting each other to get the nuke everywhere.

Currently on my second play through of DA:O as an elf mage. I don't know what it is about these games but I absolutely love them and will probably play through this at least 2 more times, just like I did with KOTOR. I'm gonna get my money's worth haha. I think what I like about it is that the team element really thrives with the tactics you put on them. The fact that you can't get through an area with just attack spammers is probably what I like the most. I think I just like being able to set up an area for maximum killing efficiency (Blizzard plus glyph of repulsion FTW!)

Yesterday a friend tipped me off that he saw Mass Effect 2 being sold at a local store, so naturally I jumped on that and was able to get the game three days early. I'm not all that far yet, and already, it's absolutely amazing, and vastly improves on the first in many ways. The world is so much more full with life, things to do, people to talk with, and a lot of little details that make it great. My favorite part so far has been how many people from the first game you run into, people that you helped in sidequests and can now follow up on, hear about the effects of things you did in the previous game, etc. In short, it's excellent so far.

I also had a lot of fun with Borderlands, but my god, that was the most retarded ending in recent memory. Granted, the "plot" is practically non-existent and is certainly not worth caring about, and I didn't, but the ending still managed to piss me off.
You at least gather that you're seeking out this mythical vault throughout the whole game. You finally get there at the end, kill a giant monster that comes out, and that's it. The key is broken and you can't get in for another 200 years. And the mysterious girl was a satellite or something? WTF?
Tried out MW2 again last night now that the patch is out.

Its better, but this game is still pissing me off.  The first match i started last night ended in a nuke boost that took all of 3 mins to happen.

Not a great way to come back.

I think im going to get all the achievements and then think about selling the game.  I just dont think i can put myself through what i need to get to 10th prestige.

Going to pick up a used copy of Fallout 3 and get back to it.  Havent played any of the DLC, but my buddy has a GOTY edition, so im going to get the DLC from him for free.

I gave up on MW2's multiplayer long ago. It's just no fun. I cannot easily explain why, as I always enjoyed COD 4's multiplayer and played it frequently. The best explanation I can come up with is that with this game, its widespread popularity has really been its downfall. I think you would be hard pressed to name any other game with this large of a percentage of downright shitty people in its player community, and I'm not referring to gameplay skill. The Halo games have nothing on MW2 in this regard.

Yeah i know what you mean, its not bad players, its players who are asshats.

The insane amount of people that are more than happy to abuse every poorly designed aspect of the game to get their kills up is just infuriating.

The sad thingi s i spend over two weeks worth of total game time on COD 4, and now I cant see myself even spending a fourth of that time.

The crappy thing is i dont care about bad company so i guess i wait to see if Reach is any good?

Oh well i picked up both Fallout 3 and Dynasty Warriors Gundam for just under 40 total over the weekend so ill be moving onto them for now.

Demon's Souls hates you. When you think you can let your guard down, it turns you around and shoves a sword up your bum. Sideways...

But I can't stop playing it haha.

Been playing FF XIII

Don't know how to score it, overall. The parts I enjoyed rank right up there with some of my favorite games, but the parts I hated rank right down there as well. The battle system's great, but takes way too long for the game to set up. No freedom to choose who you want on your team or who your team leader is (who is also the only player character you can control at any time) means that you will learn to play with everyone. But it takes forever to set up, when at most, the whole 'tutorial' stage shouldn't have taken more than 5 hours. This is made even more tedious because there's not that much exploration and a lot of the random battles take way too long anyway. This also means that if you plan to grind, you'll really grind... and teeth will also grind.

Speaking of exploration, I shouldn't have said there's not that much. I should have said there's none, except for one part, which is the best part of the game. The linear dungeon crawling, which is what about 75% of the game amounts to, gets boring, especially in the last dungeon. The fact that in the last dungeon a random battle can be more difficult than the end boss because of how arbitrarily the stats have been boosted for the final enemies is ridiculous. Also, enemies that take so long to kill having a Death instant KO spell when only your party leader needs to die for you to lose a fight is just bad game design... Nintendo-era bad game design. Scrath that, Atari-era bad game design. And yes, it will take forever to kill some enemies. Even buffing your party and debuffing enemies like you're supposed to, just fighting three battles in a row in that damn dungeon makes my skin crawl.

However, there's something about the game that keeps you coming back. For all its flaws, the battle system is innovative, interesting, and very cool, I guess the enemies need to be hard in order to justify how the battle system works. Else anyone could just button mash attack in the Relentless Assault paradigm. I'm also guessing once they added the insta-retry after losing a battle or in the middle of a losing battle after they saw just how hard and time consuming they'd made some of them. If you lose, it's no big, you can just try again. Of course, wasting near ten minutes in a random battle and having the last enemy down to a sliver only to have him cast Death and kill you will still make you want to throw your controller through the TV.

The story's pretty cool, somewhere between IV (good) and VIII (meh), with the focus being on characters, rather than anything else. Too bad the characters don't really have many great moments. Lightning is sort of a female version of Cloud, but with an actual personality... Female version of Cloud might be a redundancy, now that I think about it. With the exception of Sazh, the others are all right, but a bit cookie cutter.

All in all, a good game, short of great. It's also one of the prettiest I've ever seen (the scale of some of the mobs you find is nothing short of amazing). Not my fave FF, but not my least fave, either.

Picked up Yakuza 3, and I find it to be pretty enjoyable. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is still filling my multiplayer need, as it is pretty much awesome. I like the fact that they have kept a steady stream of content, so far, to keep it fresh.
